As Promised!

October 8, 2007 - Just like we promised — okay, so we didn't say it would take this long — another chapter of G.O. Fizzickle Pogo has been posted for your Pogo-perusing pleasure.  Click here to go to the newly-available installment!

As Advertised!

August 25, 2007 - Carolyn Kelly's appearance on the Time Travel radio program can be downloaded for your listening pleasure from this page of that show's website.  You'll need to unZIP the thing and then it should play just dandy on your computer or iPod or whatever you use to listen to MP3 files.  Give a listen.

Kelly Kin Radio Romp!

August 21, 2007 - This coming Saturday will mark 94 years since the birth of one Walt Kelly, creator of Pogo.  The day before — Friday, August 24 — his daughter Carolyn will be discussing her papa on Time Travel, a radio program heard on WNRJ, 1510 AM which broadcasts outta Hackettstown, New Jersey. Carolyn will be on the air live from 4 PM to 5 PM Eastern Time and you can listen in on the WNRJ website. Should you miss it then and there, all episodes of Time Travel are archived soon after on this page and when hers is up, we'll try to provide a direct link from here.

Better News Outta Okefenokee!

June 28, 2007 - We've all been concerned about rampaging fires in and around Waycross, Georgia and the Okefenokee area.  It's been going on since mid-April but the news is getting better.  Thanks to courageous fire fighters and a helping hand from rainy weather, the blazes have stopped spreading.  If you hear of any organized campaign to help the displaced humans and animals down that way, please let us know.

Pogo Public Plea!

June 22, 2007 - Fantagraphics Books, the folks who'll soon be bringing you the books we've all been waiting for, have put out an All Points Bulletin for strips they need to make them happen.  Read it...

CALLING ALL POGO FANS & COLLECTORS

We are requesting the help of Pogo collectors who may have original art or high quality reproductions of Walt Kelly’s Pogo strip.

We are currently assembling Walt Kelly’s POGO: The Complete Daily & Sunday Strips. We are looking for the best possible black-and-white reproduction of both Sundays and dailies — especially the Sundays. If you have original art or proofs that you would be willing to let us scan, we would be grateful if you’d contact us. You may e-mail me directly at groth@fantagraphics.com.  (Please put POGO in the header). Thank you.

If you can give 'em a hand, by all means give 'em a hand.

February 15, 2007 - What do we all want more than anything?  How about the complete run of Walt Kelly's syndicated Pogo strips — dailies and Sundays — reprinted in handsome volumes, worthy of that great feature?  Well, wishes sometimes come true: Fantagraphics Books, which is currently reissuing Charles Schulz's Peanuts, will soon be releasing the first in a series that you'll all want to own — every Pogo strip Mr. Kelly drew for syndication, presented in chronological order and with the best-possible reproduction, and book design by Jeff Smith, the man who brings us Bone.  Doesn't get any better than that.  Here's the announcement and we'll have more details right here, one of these days, soon.

Pogo Does Pittsburgh!

December 2, 2006 - Well, to be actual about it, it's not Pogo.  It's Carolyn Kelly, daughter of Walt Kelly, and she'll be a Guest of Honor at the Anthrocon, which takes place July 5-8 of 2007 in that fair city.  But she'll be there and she'll be glad to talk to you about all things Pogo.  Check yonder on the Anthrocon website for all the poop.
